Researched songs & Make up ideas from the 'Pop' genre

Wednesday 23rd September 2009

In today's lesson we had selected our genre as 'pop' and started to research songs which fall into this particular genre. While also bearing in mind the costume and make up styles used in order to create that Star persona.

While researching and looking through many female artist's pop music videos we came across Pink's video 'You and your hand' and found this clip and were completely inspired by the feminine Lacy almost floral body suit she is wearing.

My partner and I particularly liked the number of costume and hair changes Pink makes in her video as this is perhaps an attempt to show the variation of women who struggle with the same issues of men who treat them badly.

As a whole, my partner and I were truly inspired by this video and definitely decided to incorporate some of the conventions and creative features somehow into our own music video.

Alongside the Pink 'You and your hand' video I particularly liked the use of style and exaggerated make up in Natasha Bedingfield's video 'I bruise easily' as it shows how make up can be used and seen as a barrier to the real individual who hides behind all the various layers of it.
