Composed a Questionnaire for Evaluation Qu. 3 & Music Video Screening

Friday 4th December 2009

Today me and my partner thought it would be highly beneficial to make a questionnaire for the audience feedback evaluation question. This would clearly allow us to understand if our artist appealed to our intended target audience and if so why or perhaps why not.
As a class we organised a music video screening afternoon where we shared our music video with fellow peers who watched and filled in our questionnaires.

Evaluation Question time!

Wednesday 2nd December 2009

Today I looked at the four evaluation questions and started to note down in short plan form what each questions entails and basically started to gather my thoughts and ideas so that when I actually answer the question in full I would have something to work from.

Question 1.
In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

* Reference to Goodwins theory.
* Conventions of 'pop' (popular music) genre.
* Rules for promotional videos.

How I used them:
* Lip syncing, Star persona, costume etc...

How I developed them:
* Photographs mixed with video, lighting, colour correction etc...

How I challenged it:
* Mainly only the artist in the video had to keep the audience entertained and
engaged, the use of photographs.

* Using and repeating the same footage for each chorus made it more memorable yet
was a challenge.

Question 2.
How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

* How all three link and appeal to target audience, same font, colour and use of
roses and flowers make it more recognisable for audience, appeals to young girls.

Question 3.
What have you learned from your audience feedback?

* Questionnaire

Question 4.
How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

* Effects on Adobe Premiere: Edge feather, Crop, Colour correction etc...
* Panosonic HD camera to film
* Internet to search for artist, email for permission and create the blog.

Actually created my CD Album cover & Magazine Advert for my Digi Pack!

Wednesday 25th November 2009

Today I simply followed the plan I had made last week for both of my ancillary texts and finally created the CD Album cover and Magazine advert for 'LaBelle' Digi Pack.

This is the front cover of LaBelle 'Breaking Boundaries' Album.

This is the inside cover of the album.

This is area of which the large rose is where the CD will be placed.

This is the back of the album with a list of songs by LaBelle and the recording company and rights to the lyrics and music and also the bar code and website in order to find out more about LaBelle, and of course more flowers to again make LaBelle more recognisable.

Set up a Shoot for the CD Album cover & Magazine Advert

Friday 20th November 2009

Today I set up the photo shoot which was quite quick and simple as I only wanted my artist 'La Belle' dressed up and against a plain white wall which would then allow me to add further details using programmes such as Adobe Photoshop to construct the remaining of the CD album cover and magazine advert.

This is actually the image I selected to go on the front cover of the Digi pack as the Album front cover. I particularly like this shot the actress is looking directly at the camera which is supposed to suggest she is looking directly to the audience further suggesting that her music is truthful and honest.

This image below as you can see is not completely against a white wall as there is the distraction of the wooden floor which lessens the quality of the photograph so in order to avoid this I used a programmed called Adobe Photoshop which allowed me to use a lasso tool and lasso around my actress as that's the part of the image that I want then completely erase her from the background leaving me with an image free from any background distraction. You see the final image in my digi pack later in my blog.
